On September 8, 2022, IRAE submitted public comments to the FTC on its proposed rule, Motor Vehicle Dealers Trade Regulation Rule. We are deeply troubled by this proposal. The FTC has vastly overstated any problems with financial services offered by auto dealers, and this proposal creates more problems than it solves due to the unintended consequences of the FTC’s proposed rulemaking.
